Clean Energy adds trucks to natural gas fueling
Clean Energy Fuels recently started providing natural gas fuel to more trucking companies, helping boost conversion to natural gas fuel across the country and increase cost benefits for fleet management departments.
Your Industry News reported Clean Energy added five trucking firms from Florida, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Georgia and Maryland to its list of fleets operating on compressed and liquefied natural gas. The company is servicing these fleets with existing fueling stations as well as newly-built facilities along its America's Natural Gas Highway.
“These companies are geographically diverse, but the common theme we hear from all of them is a desire to reduce their fuel costs and to deploy cleaner operating fleets,” said James Harger, Clean Energy’s chief marketing officer. “With the availability of a new class of heavy-duty natural gas trucks as well as more fueling stations, regional and national trucking operators are seeing the enormous benefits of converting to natural gas as their transportation fuel.”
Also boosting the conversion to natural gas, Navistar and MaxxForce engines are joining forces with Clean Energy and Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers to develop natural gas infrastructure across the country. The collaboration aims to find fueling solutions for the trucking industry that will lower costs and increase availability of natural gas fueling stations, School Transportation News reported.
