CDL training is a highly coveted skill

Business intelligence firm WANTED Technologies recently added a Skills in Demand section to its analytics offering and found CDL training was the fourth-most valued certification employers are currently looking for.

These results can benefit the trucking industry twofold: Drivers with the appropriate training can expect to be contacted by employers in need of their expertise, and prospective drivers can understand the importance of receiving proper training to enter the industry.

"By adding skills information to WANTED Analytics, we are providing recruiting professionals with incredible competitive intelligence," said Bruce Murray, president and CEO of WANTED Technologies. "Understanding the current trends in skills, tools and certifications helps recruiters ensure that they are recruiting employees that are current in their training."

At a recent job fair at Crossroads Boy Scouts Center in Indianapolis, truckers with CDL training were put in contact with a number of employers looking for trucking professionals with their certification. Attendees of the job fair were expected to be prepared to interview for positions on the spot.
