2012 Memphis Trucking Expo cancelled

Created: Thursday, September 27th, 2012 03:01 pm

Scheduled to take place on October 13 in Tennessee, the Memphis Trucking Expo 2012 has recently been cancelled.

“Our top-of-the-line industry showcase, known for its innovation, education and entertainment, would not have been possible to stage this year, so we have made the very difficult decision to call this year’s production off,” said Nikki Brown, producer of the Memphis Annual Trucking Expo. “The Memphis Annual Trucking Expo will be back next year. We greatly appreciate each person who has shown interest as well as registered vendors, presenters or attendees.”

The 2012 event was expected to be a huge celebration, as the National Association for Minority Truckers declared 2012 The Year of the Trucker. NAMT launched the grassroots campaign to foster a national awareness of the men and women who have taken trucking classes to obtain a commercial driver’s license, making up the United States’ driving force.

Memphis Annual Trucking Expo officials have not indicated a clear reason why the event was cancelled, and instead have cited “unforeseen circumstances” that will prevent the expo from occurring.
