Ranking No.1 in seven of the nine attributes focused on by Fortune magazine, Union Pacific was named the most admired trucking, transportation and logistics company for the second year in a row, and will be featured in the World's Most Admired list in its March edition.

The categories the company ranked first in are people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment and quality of products/services.

"By focusing on our customers' needs, Union Pacific employees make a positive impact on safety and efficiency, provide reliable supply chain logistics, enhance our communities and deliver solid returns to investors," said Jim Young, chairman and CEO of Union Pacific.

Union Pacific also showcases its dedication to trucker health by seeking ways to reduce pollution and enhance the working environment of its employees. Its facility in Nebraska recently earned Silver Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The facility gained the certification due to energy efficient lighting, recycling 81 percent of construction waste, reducing portable water consumption, optimizing energy performance and buying 88 percent of office furnishing that meet LEED criteria.
