Trucking reality show features unusual shipping methods
Although some people think that reality TV is becoming a little too prevalent in pop culture, some of these show are giving the trucking industry a new and positive image. Ice Road Truckers was one of the first to feature real drivers who put their lives in danger on the highways every day. Now there is another ground-breaking reality program that highlights the unusual and thrilling situations truckers must sometimes face during their career.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Shipping Wars is about several truckers who have undergone CDL training to become some of the cleverest and interesting drivers on the road. During the program, they are faced with various challenges while trying to haul unique cargo safely and efficiently.
The six truckers followed in the show all work independently and often bid for the right to haul the freight requests. Some of the more unique items that the drivers are faced with shipping are things like a massive metal horse statue, antique motorcycles and movie set equipment, reports the Washington Post.
