TravelCenters truck stops to be updated with modernized laundry stations

Trucker health is often at the utmost importance at rest stops throughout the country. When pulling long hours on the road, staying hygienic and well rested can sometimes be a challenge, especially on cross-country hauls. However, the TravelCenters of America are aiming to make trucking a little easier for some by installing new laundry facilities at several of their centers throughout the U.S., reports Trucking Info.

There are nearly 200 TravelCenters that have laundry services and the company hopes to upgrade all of these locations by March of 2012. The new equipment will accept major credit cards and can notify drivers through text messages to their cell phones when their laundry cycle is complete. For the first month after these new facilities are added, drivers can enjoy special rates and discounts while using the washers and dryers.

According to the TravelCenters website, there are rest stop locations under this brand name throughout the country. Many include areas for refueling, resting and dining along the busiest roads in the nation. Truckers and all motorists can use these areas when feeling fatigued, which can help ensure truck driving safety and protect all those on the road.
