New partnership creates improved measures for trucker health

Created: Wednesday, March 7th, 2012 01:01 pm

A recent partnership formed by Rolling Strong and the Kroger Company Family of Pharmacies will work to improve trucker health by providing truckers with onsite biometric readings for all of Rolling Strong's clients at Kroger stores.

Drivers and their families will be able to take advantage of the new service, which also gives drivers access to value added coupons and grocery lists through the Rolling Strong Driver Wellness Tool Bag Program.

"We are honored to be working with the Kroger Family of Pharmacies to provide the best services for professional drivers and their families," said Bob Perry, president of Rolling Strong. "Together, working with Kroger, we are able to support the unique needs of the professional truck driver where they work, on the road, and at the same time help keep the entire family on the road to better health."

Another way truckers and the companies they drive for can improve health conditions is to reduce the use of diesel-powered trucks, as diesel exhaust can increase the risk of lung cancer for those who work in enclosed spaces like mines, reported HealthNewsDigest.com.
