J.B. Hunt Transport Services is opening a 42,000-square-foot facility in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, at the end of the month, and plans to hire 30 new employees.

The facility will be composed of 90 percent recycled material and will be energy efficient, utilizing technologies such as LED lights, light sensors, a reflective white roof and polished concrete floors.

"We are excited about the opening of our maintenance facility in Harrisburg and the new jobs it will bring to the area," said Gary Anderson, executive vice president of maintenance for J.B. Hunt. "The green methods and materials utilized in the shop's construction combine with the energy efficient features used in its daily operation to reflect our commitment to sustainability."

With the facility taking on green energy initiatives, the company demonstrates its emphasis on trucker health, as well as the health of the planet.

Trucking companies in Pennsylvania could also benefit from the new regulations regarding natural gas fracking, the Marcellus Shale Coalition.

Pennsylvania could create a lot more business for local firms, looking to transport the natural gas reserves in the state, said the website.
