New delivery trucks in Boston go all-electric

The air in Massachusetts may become a little cleaner due to the recent efforts that the Frito-Lay company has been making in their trucking logistics. The business announced that they will be using eight new vehicles in the Boston area that run on electricity, which will reduce waste and harmful emissions into the air.

Throughout the U.S. and Canada, Frito-Lay is utilizing nearly 180 electric trucks for their delivery services, which makes them the largest commercial fleet of electric trucks in the area. So far, 18 cities have gotten on board with the business’s initiative and Frito-Lay hopes to continue to phase out fuel trucks for these more environmentally friendly trucks in the future.

"Frito-Lay's investment in cleaner, more sustainable transportation serves as an excellent example of a major U.S.  corporation, PepsiCo, making a significant public commitment to the reduction of greenhouse gases and reduced energy consumption," Barbara Kates-Garnick, undersecretary for the Energy and Environmental Affairs organization, said in a statement.

Truckers who have recently completed their CDL training can research companies that use all-electric trucks, which can benefit trucker health and all motorists on the nation’s roadways.
