Created: Tuesday, July 12th, 2011 03:01 pm

The move towards greener sustainability in fleet management has been an ongoing project for many trucking companies. Recently, Inbound Logistics Magazine recognized the efforts of some of these businesses by naming the top 75 chain supply companies that are striving to become more environmentally friendly.

The list includes ABF Freight System, which has been on the list for the second year in a row. The business has introduced many policies to support a greener production, such as preventing its trucks from idling excessively.

Wes Kemp, chief executive officer and president of ABF Freight System says he is thrilled with the honor and hopes to continue to strive towards exploring new ways of sustainability.

"It is gratifying to see our efforts once again recognized by the editors of Inbound Logistics magazine," he said.

The ABF Freight System company offers its services throughout all 50 states, as well as utilizing international ports in more than 130 countries around the globe. The business has been awarded various distinctions, including awards for trucking safety from the American Trucking Association.
