Statistics released about truck sales and freight demands
New figures on the trucking industry were recently released by the ACH Research group, reports Trucking Info. Data on used big rig and trailer sales plus the latest percentages on freight were presented by the analytic experts.
Percentages for freight hauled in August were the highest recorded in the past four years. These numbers are promising for the industry, but some professionals say fleet management owners should keep watch of the growing number of cancelled shipments. These orders that do not follow through could affect the industry as a whole in the long run.
Another issue brought to light by the data is the continual decrease of the purchasing of used big rigs, reports The Trucker. This past summer, sales declined through wholesale and auctions markets, but they did increase through retail purchases. Experts said that summer vacations and slower delivery demands could attribute to these varying statistics.
Truckers involved in the ever-changing business of hauling freight may want to monitor these figures, for they could adversely affect their occupation.
