Smartphone/tablet app helps organize logistics of trucking companies

Created: Friday, November 4th, 2011 04:01 pm

According to Supply Chain Digital Magazine, there is a new application, or app, for smartphones and tablets on the market that can help assist fleet management within a trucking company. Called EchoTrak, this program will streamline the necessary information needed to ensure that all aspects of trucking logistics run smoothly.

The services are already offered on the Echo Global Logistics website, but the app will now allow managers and owners to check their data and figures where they have internet, 3G or 4G access. This will be in collaboration with the businesses' evolved transportation manager (ETM), which is offered as a logistics tracker program as well.

Any company, big or small, that works with supply chains can benefit from this app, which stores all the necessary statistics needed to keep a transport trucking company successful.

AppBrain.com reports that users need to login to their EchoTrak account and can use the app from there like they would the website. Owners are able to search for specific shipments and see if they have been delivered yet or are on their way. The app is free and is available on Android platforms and through iTunes.
