In an effort to promote trucking safety, Networkfleet, recently introduced the availability of Posted Speed Reporting. This wireless fleet management tool will allow companies to see when a vehicle is moving faster than the legal posted speed limits, Trucking Info reports.

Officials told the news source that the technology will allow fleet managers to view online speed violations reports. Furthermore, they can receive text or email alerts when speed limits are exceeded.

The online fleet management system wirelessly monitors information for each vehicle, which includes exact speed, global position system (GPS) location and engine diagnostics. The technology also features ways to help companies reduce fuel usage and associated costs.

Safety managers may wish to enroll their operators in online truck driving regulation training to show them how obeying the speed limit not only promotes trucking safety, but also reduces fuel consumption.

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, more than 3 million driver inspections occurred in the U.S. in 2010. Furthermore, more than 2 million vehicles took part in a roadside inspection.
