New offering from TomTom aims to improve fleet management
Trucking companies are constantly looking for better methods of fleet management, and a recent release from GPS navigation company TomTom might fit that need.
With WEBFLEET, fleet managers can tell customers when shipments are expected at certain locations. Managers can also easily choose the right vehicle for upcoming routes to ensure shipments will arrive on time.
"This is an exciting development that gives companies a time-accurate planning option to help improve response times and standards of service," said Thomas Schmidt, managing director of TomTom Business Solutions. "With our travel time based planning customers can be reached quicker than with traditional dispatching based on shortest distance."
Another recent offering from TomTom is the latest map update for automotive, government, and enterprise customers, which can serve clients in more than 200 different countries.
Some of the newest additions to the map include tens of thousands of miles of navigable roads in India, Brazil, the Philippines and Croatia, as well as off-road navigation for areas of Namibia and Botswana.
