New discount programs helps truckers in tough economic times
In order to have a successful fleet management business, many truck company owners look for ways to make their hauling efficient and cost-effective. Recently, three companies involved in the industry joined forces to introduce a unique card that can save time and revenue.
The card, called FLASH, was developed by Freight Capital, Comdata and a subsidiary of Goodyear. Members of the service have opportunities for discounts on fuel and truck services throughout the country.
Savings on gas can drastically change the bottom line for trucking companies, especially local businesses that tend to fuel frequently. This new card can save owners up to 40 cents per gallon at certain pumps.
Wingfoot Truck Care Centers, owned by Goodyear, offer discounted oil changes to card holders. Inspections, light services and emergency roadside programs are also reduced when owners use their FLASH card.
Besides being a tool for having trucking companies save money, the card can also help manage expenses overall, because it can be used for purchases other than maintenance and gas. Owners have the options of receiving daily e-mail or fax updates about where and when the card was used.
