Created: Friday, January 20th, 2012 02:01 pm

An 8,600-square-foot facility in Dixon, Kentucky, will be the new home to M&M Trucking Incorporated, which will enable to company to add 10 new jobs, as well as increase its workload in the upcoming year.

In order for M&M Trucking to make the expansion, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority granted the company tax incentives, enabling it to enjoy income tax credits contingent on meeting certain investment and performance goals. These incentives enabled the company to expand and improve upon its fleet management with the use of a larger facility.

"I appreciate all that Northwest Kentucky Forward, the Webster County Economic Development Council and the Commonwealth of Kentucky did for M&M Trucking," said Larry Moore, president of M&M Trucking. "We look forward to continued growth and being able to serve this area for many years to come."

Referencing data from the U.S. Department of Labor, Frankfort, Kentucky, Fox affiliate WDRB reported the trucking industry helped improve the jobless rate in the state.

Manoj Shanker, an economist at the Office of Employment and Training, told the news source that the holiday season fueled many companies to increase hiring in the trucking sector.
