Hiring continues in the trucking industry over the holidays
Some individuals may have to tighten their belts during the holiday season, but others who are looking to make a career change or gain more income could consider trucking. Large trucking companies are hiring across the U.S., especially during the holidays to keep up with demand. According to KIMT TV in Iowa and Minnesota, Conway Freight is offering career opportunities and CDL training for those interested in a job that takes them on the road.
Experts say that more than 135,000 truckers will be needed nationwide to work during the first quarter of 2012. Conway plans on alleviating some of these positions by offering schooling and opportunities to those wishing to learn about the industry. Truckers who drive for Conway in Minnesota rarely have to drive across state borders and can return home every night.
Several other businesses are looking for certified and able truckers as well, reports the Indy Star. Celadon, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, has put out the call for 100 new drivers over the next five years. This will coincide with their expansions project in the region, which could help the economy and new employees find success.
