Drivewyze and Zonar partnership allows for better fleet management

Created: Friday, March 23rd, 2012 02:01 pm

A new collaboration between Drivewyze and Zonar will allow trucking companies an opportunity for better fleet management by allowing Zonar customers to use Drivewyze's inspection station bypass and toll payment options.

Being compliant with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the collaboration will allow Zonar customers to connect with the Drivewyze network using smartphones such as the iPhone, Android devices and BlackBerry.

"Zonar is perfectly positioned to provide Drivewyze to their customers," said Brian Heath, president of Drivewyze. "Both companies provide technologies to improve fleet operation efficiency and vehicle safety. The new solution will help Zonar customers save valuable time associated with weigh stations, inspections and tolling."

The service will be available to trucking companies in North America at some point throughout the upcoming year.

Zonar was also recently in the news for the creation of its fuel-based GPS tracking technology, which will allow fleets to measure the fuel efficiency of each route, and determine the most fuel-efficient route.

Mike McQuade, Zonar’s chief technical officer, said the technology changes depending on the environment of the truck, whether if it is in a city or driving on a highway.
