Following a recent announcement of proposed changes to Compliance, Safety and Accountability measures, the American Transportation Research Institute plans to survey members of the trucking industry about progress within the program.

Anne Ferro, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, took the stage at the recent Mid-America Trucking Show to discuss how some of the CSA programs implemented this year, including the addition of Hazmat BASIC, have affected the industry, Heavy Duty Truck Magazine reported.

This year's survey from ATRI will ask drivers for their thoughts about how the CSA has changed over the year, as well as their understanding of the different components of the program and its impact on trucking safety. The results of the driver survey will be released later this year along with opinions from motor carriers, shippers and the enforcement community. Previous research from ATRI sampled more than 5,000 drivers.

According to Heavy Duty Truck Magazine, the recently imposed CSA programs have improved trucking safety measures, while allowing fleets to improve their own operations.
