Experts ask truckers about their opinions on CSA
The Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) initiative was implemented by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for fleet management owners and truck drivers to have a way of regulating their occupation and maintaining efficiency. The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) is examining the CSA further to best understand the benefits of the national program, reports Truck News.
Truckers are asked to answer specific questions online about how the CSA is effecting their positions in the trucking industry. The questionnaire is mostly directed towards motor carriers' feelings about the FMCSA and the innovative ideas of the CSA.
For about six months, the CSA has been introduced to trucking companies throughout the country as a way to streamline the ideas behind hauling freight. ATRI says they hope to find if regular truck companies are fully aware and comprehend the facets of the program and its objectives.
According to the U.S. Department of transportation's website, the CSA's over goal is to ensure trucking safety and trucker health by exploring ways to reduce crashes and accidents while truckers and bus drivers are on the job.
