The course is comprised of seven units: this introduction, followed by units on alcohol and drug testing procedures and regulations. Units on the effects of various controlled substances comes next, followed by a section on awareness, treatment options, and other topics specific to help and recovery. The final unit is for employers, supervisors, company officials, owner/operators, and other Department of Transportation-regulated or safety-sensitive personnel in a position of authority. Individuals who fall into this category should complete each unit of the course before moving on to the supervisor unit.
One of the main focuses of this course will be to explain drug and controlled substance testing requirements, as mandated by the United States Department of Transportation. We'll also provide information on why certain regulations exist, and how to safely remain in compliance
