Vehicle Systems: Tires and Wheels

There are three fundamental types of tires: radial tires, bias tires, and bias belted tires. In radial tires, the body ply cords run around the tire perpendicular to the tread. Additionally, there are belt plies around the tire, parallel to the tread along the part that makes and provide sturdiness for the tread.
